If you’re looking to squeeze in one more book before the end of summer, look no further than ROAD TRIP by New York Times bestselling author Mary Kay Andrews. This story has it all: an unforgettable destination, sibling conflict, attractive men, and hidden family truths. This delightful Irish adventure features sisters Maeve and Therese Dunigan, two complete opposites who are drawn to a mysterious painting that holds the key to a life-altering discovery. The only problem? They have to put their lives on hold and cross an ocean to sort it out.
What I liked best about this book is Mary Kay’s witty storytelling, which spans two continents and dual timelines as Maeve and Therese come to terms with their mother’s passing. Her vivid descriptions bring the Irish countryside to life, while the twists and turns involving the painting and everything these sisters have to overcome kept me turning the pages late into the night.
As an avid MKA reader, I rank this new release at the top of my favorites. I even listened to it as an audiobook, which I highly recommend. This book is a refreshing change from a typical beach read. If you’re looking for a story that will transport you somewhere completely different and keep you guessing along the way, ROAD TRIP is a surefire must-read!
