SUMMER STATE OF MIND by Kristy Woodson Harvey
For me, summer doesn’t officially begin until the release of Kristy Woodson Harvey's newest book. SUMMER STATE OF MIND is by far my favorite to date. What I like most are the layers of family relationships and how the simplest acts of kindness set in motion significant life changes.
NICU nurse Daisy Stevens needs a fresh start. Moving to Cape Carolina to take a new job at the local hospital opens opportunities for her to plant roots. Mason Thaysden is the hometown hero whose path in life has taken unexpected turns. He’s searching for his purpose and a person to share his life with. Daisy and Mason’s lives intertwine when an abandoned baby steals their hearts.
The scene-stealer of this book is Aunt Tilley. She’s the family's secret keeper, with the biggest heart and kindest soul, even if she’s a bit loony, or is she? Will there be a sequel? I hope so because I’ve fallen in love with these characters, and you will too. Add this book to your must-read list. It will stay with you long after the last page.
