Book Review: The Dog Park Murders by Angela Barker

As a dog lover, I couldn’t resist THE DOG PARK MURDERS by Angela Barker. In the small town of Labrador Falls, dog groomer Juliette Macintyre is in over her head when she finds a dead body strangled with one of her custom leashes. To clear her name, she needs help, and she gets it from surly ex-firefighter, now-coffee-shop-owner Joel Cunningham. He runs Brewed Awakening and isn’t a fan of dogs, but he quickly becomes Juliette’s co-conspirator. Two heads really are better than one when you’re hunting a murderer.
I requested this audiobook on NetGalley because I love dogs, and the cover is eye-catching. The story did not disappoint, and the narration was a treat: the narrator’s voice was a perfect fit for the cozy tone and made it easy to settle in and listen. If you enjoy Hallmark-style mysteries, small-town charm, and pet sidekicks, this one is for you. The characters are believable, and the mystery kept me guessing. The series centers on dogs, so what more could you want? I can’t wait for the next installment.
