Book Review: The Violet Hour by Victoria Benton Frank

ree

As a frequent visitor to the Lowcountry, I found The Violet Hour to have all the hallmarks of a true Southern romance, rich with grit, grace, and heart. The characters on Sullivan's Island each carry their own story, bound together by family and tradition. Violet Adams stands at a crossroads, having been shaped by tragedy into the woman she is today. Sweet, dependable, and deeply loyal to her sister Maggie, she anchors the story with her quiet strength. Her best friend, Aly Knox, is navigating her own struggles resulting from the loss of her beloved mother, while her father's new relationship stirs tension within the family. This novel is a touching blend of self-discovery and the enduring importance of family during life's challenges. It's the first book I've read by this author, and I truly enjoyed it. Can't wait to see what's next.
